Back pain is one of the most common types of body pain. If you are suffering from back pain, then some of these quick methods may help alleviate the discomfort and get you back on your feet
Exercises and stretches
Simple back exercises and stretches can often help reduce back pain. These can be carried out at home as often as you need to. Other activates such as walking, swimming, yoga and palates may also be helpful.
Staying active
Stay as active as possible and try to continue your daily activities – This is one of the most important things you can do, as resting for long periods is likely to make the pain worse.
Posture
Slouching whilst at home or working can also be bad for your back. Make a conscious effort to keep a good posture and sit correctly. Whilst at work, sitting in a properly fastened and reinforced seat can also support your spine and help keep a good posture
Hot and cold compression packs
Some people find that a hot bath or hot water bottle placed on the affected area helps ease the pain when back pain first starts.
On the other hand, some people find ice packs placed on the painful area can also help in the short term. However, don’t put the ice directly to the affected area, as it might cause a cold burn. Make sure to wrap the ice pack/bag of frozen vegetables in a cloth first.
Relax and stay positive
Trying to relax is a crucial part of easing the pain as muscle tension caused by worrying about your condition may make things worse.
Although it can be difficult, it helps if you stay optimistic and recognise that your pain should get better in time, as people who manage to stay positive despite their pain tend to recover quicker
